More information about the property

ROOF/BIRDS: Wild Bird Forest Lodge, completed in 2016, was designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates, the studio of one of today’s most acclaimed architects. The flight of wild birds inspired both the name and the distinctive cluster of roofs that defines the villa’s silhouette.

The living space doubles as a private art gallery, and artworks, furniture and fixtures are included in the sale. The 240 sqm main building is complemented by three separate pavilions, all set on a forest plot of almost 2,500 sqm.

The villa is looked after by Hoshino Resorts Villa Service under a management contract, giving the owner resort-level service without the day-to-day running.

Location - Karuizawa – Nagakura

Karuizawa is where Tokyo escapes for cooler summers, forests and calm, and it is easily reached from the capital by the Hokuriku Shinkansen. The villa sits in Nagakura, within grounds managed by Hoshino Resorts, about a 13-minute drive from Karuizawa Station and 5 minutes from Naka-Karuizawa Station.
